Close up:
Yes! That's right! We are going to find out the gender THIS WEEK!! We don't have to wait until the beginning of May! How exciting is that?! I was sitting at home on Saturday night and decided to google "how early can you have a gender ultrasound?". To my surprise, a couple of Ultrasound places in Orlando guaranteeing 100% accuracy at 14+ weeks popped up at the top of the google search. I immediately got excited! I knew a girl who had mentioned doing this before so I quickly facebooked her to get her opinion. She highly recommended that I go ahead and do it. Monday morning couldn't come fast enough. I had two places that I was going to call. I told myself I will go to whichever one can fit me in first. Both places didn't open until 10...what business opens at 10? Anyways, I started calling at 9:50 (I better learn some patience before this baby comes). The first place to answer was Prenatal Impressions in Metro West. After questioning the poor man to death over the phone he made me an appointment for the next day (Tuesday)! YIPPY! John met me there at 4:30. We were the last appointment. I was told to drink something with sugar right before I came. I chose Gatorade (which by the way has 34 grams of sugar- hello!!). We were put in this nice little room with a huge screen TV, 2 couches, and a big comfy bed for me to lay on. Now, John and I have always wanted to do a gender reveal party with our families. I think it would be so fun for all of us to find out at the same time (John and I included). So, the plan was to have this nurse put the gender in a sealed envelop. I am then going to drop this envelop off to my aunt Franny and friend Aimee. These two lovely ladies have a very important duty. They are going to be in charge of getting pink balloons (for a girl) or blue balloons (for a boy) and stuffing them into a trunk/chest. They will bring the trunk over to our house and in front of everyone John and I will open the trunk together, revealing the gender of Baby Moon. So naturally, I had specific rules for this guy who was in charge of the envelop. They went a little something like this: #1. "No matter HOW MUCH I BEG you, you absolutely CANNOT tell me what the gender is". #2. "Make sure you don't say things such as "oh wow, I can definitely tell the gender on this one", or "oh, there it is", "etc". And #3. "Watch your tone because I will analyze everything you say". He looked at me like "listen lady, this isn't my first rodeo" and John, he did his nervous, someone shut my wife up, laugh. Anyways, on to the sad news! This 15 minute appointment turned into 1 hour and 5 minutes. BABY MOON WAS NOT COOPERATING!! He/she was upside down the entire time. The only 2 times he/she turned over the legs were closed, hands were over the private area, or the umbilical cord was running through the legs. I felt bad for this poor man. He felt defeated. He stayed an hour after they closed because he didn't want to send us home without a gender. Long story short, we rescheduled for another appointment on Thursday. We went in Thursday (today) and we were in and out in 20 minutes flat. I ate a Butterfinger at lunch time and Reese's Pieces on my way to the appointment. I also had another Gatorade. It was the same guy. He told us that our baby has "chubby thighs" and "long toes". I don't like the long toes part. We all 3 agreed that my original plan with the envelop idea was going to be a huge bust for me. So, the nurse agreed to call my Aunt Franny (who missed the call) and then Aimee. He made John and I step out into the lobby. Apparently this WASN'T his first rodeo! ha. He told Aimee and then allowed us to come back in. She immediately texted me and said "Now, stay away from me until Sunday". Haha. She knows me well. We were sent on our way with a bag full of goodies , a DVD of both sonograms, and a sweet picture of Baby Moon. SUNDAY IS THE BIG REVEAL!! Stay tuned!
Take a look at those cute little hands over the face!!
How far along? 16 weeks
Total weight gain: I go back to the Doctor's office Monday the 15th. I'm pretty sure I am never going to weight myself unless I am there.
Maternity clothes? Still wearing my clothes. I did just buy a couple of dresses in the next size up! I don't think this is going to last much longer. This belly is growin'!
Stretch marks? No.
Sleep: Slept through the entire night last night and did not get up one time to pee! HALLELUJAH. It felt amazing. Uninterrupted sleep is amazing.
Best moment this week: Seeing our little baby wiggle inside of my belly. At the gender ultrasound appointment the nurse was pointing out arms, legs, eyes, nose, spine, ect. It is so incredible to see on the screen. I could literally watch that everyday. My heart just melts seeing this little baby.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Same ole news.
Gender: WE. FIND. OUT. THIS. SUNDAY!!! I'm still getting mixed feelings from people. Half say girl, half say boy. Not too much longer and IT'S ON!...shopping, shopping, shopping!!
Belly Button in or out? This girl is in!
Wedding rings on or off? On
Miss Anything? Sushi. The real kind...with raw fish.
Food cravings: Nothing new from last week. Although I have added potato salad to the mix. Are you catching on here? ....ANYTHING potato will be just fine!
Labor Signs: No! But I did have a dream about labor! I had a dream that I had a c-section and was up, walking around the hospital showing everyone my new baby within 2 minutes after delivering! (Nice dream, huh??). PS: The baby was a girl!
Symptoms: Morning sickness is still around. The good news is that it's not everyday. Lately it as been every other day. Like I said before, no complaints here!! A new symptom we are throwing into the mix is: HEADACHES. Oh my gosh---HEADACHES. I'm not one to ever get these but when they come....they come with a vengeance.
Happy or Moody most of the time: OH MY GOSH SO HAPPY. Sunday we get to find out if this little baby is a boy or girl. I am SO VERY anxious. Can I make it to Sunday??!?!?! So far, yet so close! At least we are finding out 4 weeks earlier than we expected. More time for shopping!!!!!
Looking forward to: S.U.N.D.A.Y when those blue or pink balloons pop out of that trunk! Oh my goodness!!!
