18 weeks.

Close up:

How far along? 18 weeks

Total weight gain:  1.5 lbs. Not going to weigh myself again until May 15th :)

Maternity clothes? Not yet.

Stretch marks? No.

Sleep: Sleep is wonderful. Sleeping on my side is getting annoying.

Best moment this week:  I think I felt a little "thump, thump, thump" in my tummy on Tuesday night. That was pretty exciting!

Anything making you queasy or sick: You know the drill.

Gender: Sweet baby boy!

Belly Button in or out? in

Wedding rings on or off? on

Miss Anything? We have been going to outback a lot recently. It makes me miss Ahi Tuna. John still eats it in front of me and savors every last bite. I sit and drool while watching him- wishing I could devour some myself.

Food cravings: Potatoes. This week I even broke down and ordered triangle potatoes from the school cafeteria. They were sitting on the little tray calling my name...and boy were they DELICIOUS!!

Labor Signs: No

Symptoms: Usual morning sickness. STILL.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy and very excited. We only have 29 school days left of this year. That means I will be on vacation for TWO months, come back to work for ONE month, and then have this baby boy!!! It's going to go by so fast! ...especially since the summers always fly by for me!!

Looking forward to: Actually feel this baby move around. My books say I should start to feel him anywhere between 18-22 weeks.

Have a great weekend!

17 weeks & IT'S A BOY!!!

Close up:

As you know, this Sunday was our little gender reveal party. It was the most exciting day! Franny and Aimee did such a wonderful job of keeping the secret from me and getting the chest of balloons all ready. Shortly after everyone arrived I started to get so overwhelmed. In a good way. I was anxious, excited, nervous, and happy all rolled into one. I cannot even begin to describe the feeling I had right before we opened the chest. It was something I've never felt before. The entire event was everything (and more) I thought it was going to be. Having our family and a few friends there made it even more special. I always visioned finding out the gender of our baby while being surrounded by the people we love the most. Seeing John so happy after he saw those blue balloons brought me to tears. I am so happy to be able to provide him with a son- something he has always dreamed of.  Shortly after opening the chest I literally felt like 50 pounds had been lifted off my shoulders- I can officially make all my visions a reality. I had two nurseries planned- one for a girl and one for a boy. IT'S GO TIME. I will share pictures as we get pieces of furniture for Baby Boy. Yes, we have a name- but you'll have to wait a little longer for that! :) Here is a sweet photo that Aimee put together for us. It captures our emotion so well.

How far along? 17 weeks

Total weight gain:  Ok ladies. I have gained 1.5 lbs. since my last doctor's visit. But, technically only 1 lb. since the beginning of my pregnancy (since I lost .5 lbs. in the first trimester). I can't believe this poppin' belly has only caused me to gain 1 POUND!

Maternity clothes? Not yet.

Stretch marks? No.

Sleep: Sleep is getting much, much better. And I have been staying up later (about 9-9:30 PM).

Best moment this week:  FINDING OUT THAT BABY MOON IS A B-O-Y!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Good news, I can sit next to someone at lunch who is eating chicken without getting sick. But, I still can't eat it myself.

Gender: BOY BOY BOY BOY BOY!!!!

Belly Button in or out? in

Wedding rings on or off? on

Miss Anything? Bologna. I really wanted a bologna sandwich this week--with cheese, mustard, and white bread. YUM. I suppose I can have fried bologna- but it's not the same as a cold sandwich

Food cravings: Still on the potato kick. Actually, I am eating mashed potatoes right now.

Labor Signs: No

Symptoms: Morning sickness (the real kind--that goes away right after I get sick). The usual.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Over the moon about this baby boy!!! However, I was a tiny little bit moody this weekend trying to get this house in order for everyone to come over. But that's natural right? Hormones. Ha.

Looking forward to: Our next doctor's visit. We have an anatomy scan on May 15th. That means another ultrasound. I love seeing our baby on the monitor! It just melts my heart!

Ps: I went shopping right away (Monday after work to be exact). I went a little overboard but I promise not to buy anymore newborn clothes since I know he won't be wearing them for long! Take a look...I just couldn't help myself. CUTENESS OVERLOAD.

16 weeks & a GENDER ULTRASOUND!

Close up:

Yes! That's right! We are going to find out the gender THIS WEEK!! We don't have to wait until the beginning of May! How exciting is that?! I was sitting at home on Saturday night and decided to google "how early can you have a gender ultrasound?". To my surprise, a couple of Ultrasound places in Orlando guaranteeing 100% accuracy at 14+ weeks popped up at the top of the google search. I immediately got excited! I knew a girl who had mentioned doing this before so I quickly facebooked her to get her opinion. She highly recommended that I go ahead and do it. Monday morning couldn't come fast enough. I had two places that I was going to call. I told myself I will go to whichever one can fit me in first. Both places didn't open until 10...what business opens at 10? Anyways, I started calling at 9:50 (I better learn some patience before this baby comes). The first place to answer was Prenatal Impressions in Metro West. After questioning the poor man to death over the phone he made me an appointment for the next day (Tuesday)! YIPPY! John met me there at 4:30. We were the last appointment. I was told to drink something with sugar right before I came. I chose Gatorade (which by the way has 34 grams of sugar- hello!!). We were put in this nice little room with a huge screen TV, 2 couches, and a big comfy bed for me to lay on. Now, John and I have always wanted to do a gender reveal party with our families. I think it would be so fun for all of us to find out at the same time (John and I included). So, the plan was to have this nurse put the gender in a sealed envelop. I am then going to drop this envelop off to my aunt Franny and friend Aimee. These two lovely ladies have a very important duty. They are going to be in charge of getting pink balloons (for a girl) or blue balloons (for a boy) and stuffing them into a trunk/chest. They will bring the trunk over to our house and in front of everyone John and I will open the trunk together, revealing the gender of Baby Moon. So naturally, I had specific rules for this guy who was in charge of the envelop. They went a little something like this: #1. "No matter HOW MUCH I BEG you, you absolutely CANNOT tell me what the gender is". #2. "Make sure you don't say things such as "oh wow, I can definitely tell the gender on this one", or "oh, there it is", "etc". And #3. "Watch your tone because I will analyze everything you say". He looked at me like "listen lady, this isn't my first rodeo" and John, he did his nervous, someone shut my wife up, laugh. Anyways, on to the sad news! This 15 minute appointment turned into 1 hour and 5 minutes. BABY MOON WAS NOT COOPERATING!! He/she was upside down the entire time. The only 2 times he/she turned over the legs were closed, hands were over the private area, or the umbilical cord was running through the legs. I felt bad for this poor man. He felt defeated. He stayed an hour after they closed because he didn't want to send us home without a gender. Long story short, we rescheduled for another appointment on Thursday. We went in Thursday (today) and we were in and out in 20 minutes flat. I ate a Butterfinger at lunch time and Reese's Pieces on my way to the appointment. I also had another Gatorade. It was the same guy. He told us that our baby has "chubby thighs" and "long toes". I don't like the long toes part. We all 3 agreed that my original plan with the envelop idea was going to be a huge bust for me. So, the nurse agreed to call my Aunt Franny (who missed the call) and then Aimee. He made John and I step out into the lobby. Apparently this WASN'T his first rodeo! ha. He told Aimee and then allowed us to come back in. She immediately texted me and said "Now, stay away from me until Sunday". Haha. She knows me well. We were sent on our way with a bag full of goodies , a DVD of both sonograms, and a sweet picture of Baby Moon. SUNDAY IS THE BIG REVEAL!! Stay tuned!

Take a look at those cute little hands over the face!!

How far along? 16 weeks

Total weight gain:  I go back to the Doctor's office Monday the 15th. I'm pretty sure I am never going to weight myself unless I am there.

Maternity clothes? Still wearing my clothes. I did just buy a couple of dresses in the next size up! I don't think this is going to last much longer. This belly is growin'!

Stretch marks? No.

Sleep: Slept through the entire night last night and did not get up one time to pee! HALLELUJAH. It felt amazing. Uninterrupted sleep is amazing.

Best moment this week:  Seeing our little baby wiggle inside of my belly. At the gender ultrasound appointment the nurse was pointing out arms, legs, eyes, nose, spine, ect. It is so incredible to see on the screen. I could literally watch that everyday. My heart just melts seeing this little baby.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Same ole news.

Gender: WE. FIND. OUT. THIS. SUNDAY!!!  I'm still getting mixed feelings from people. Half say girl, half say boy. Not too much longer and IT'S ON!...shopping, shopping, shopping!!

Belly Button in or out? This girl is in!

Wedding rings on or off? On

Miss Anything? Sushi. The real kind...with raw fish.

Food cravings: Nothing new from last week. Although I have added potato salad to the mix. Are you catching on here? ....ANYTHING potato will be just fine!

Labor Signs: No! But I did have a dream about labor! I had a dream that I had a c-section and was up, walking around the hospital showing everyone my new baby within 2 minutes after delivering! (Nice dream, huh??). PS: The baby was a girl!

Symptoms: Morning sickness is still around. The good news is that it's not everyday. Lately it as been every other day. Like I said before, no complaints here!! A new symptom we are throwing into the mix is: HEADACHES. Oh my gosh---HEADACHES. I'm not one to ever get these but when they come....they come with a vengeance.

Happy or Moody most of the time: OH MY GOSH SO HAPPY. Sunday we get to find out if this little baby is a boy or girl. I am SO VERY anxious. Can I make it to Sunday??!?!?! So far, yet so close! At least we are finding out 4 weeks earlier than we expected. More time for shopping!!!!!

Looking forward to: S.U.N.D.A.Y when those blue or pink balloons pop out of that trunk! Oh my goodness!!!

15 weeks!

Close up:

How far along? 15 weeks

Total weight gain: Oh goodness. I think I'll stick with only weighing myself when I go to the doctor. I don't even want to know how many pounds I've gained so far!

Maternity clothes? Still in my normal clothes...milking this for as long as I can! :) Looking into getting the "belly band" because I don't like the way the button on my pants sticks out when I use the hair tie method.

Stretch marks? No.

Sleep: My sleep is getting better. I've been falling right asleep after going to the bathroom in the middle of the night (goodness gracious- I go to the bathroom A LOT...I think this baby is literally SITTING on my bladder).

Best moment this week:  Turning in all of my paper work for FMLA (Florida Medical Leave Act). I will be taking maternity leave from September 26, 2013- January 6, 2014!! (Assuming this baby is punctual).

Anything making you queasy or sick: Same ol' thing. You already know ;) Will I ever eat chi*ken again?

Gender: I have done SEVERAL gender predictors online. The "Chinese Gender Predictor" told me one day that it was a girl and then another day that it was a boy. I also did the "string a piece of hair through your wedding ring and hold it over your belly- if it sways back in forth its a boy- if it goes around in a circle it's a girl"....that one told is it was going to be a girl. SO WHO KNOWS?! BUT I'M DYING. LITERALLY DYING, TO FIND OUT. Everyone I talk to thinks it's a girl with all this sickness. Dolores and my Mamaw think it's a boy! May can't get here fast enough.

Belly Button in or out? She's still an innie.

Wedding rings on or off? On

Miss Anything? Last week I said I missed a cold cut sandwich, but this week I R-E-A-L-L-Y miss them. It's so hard packing my lunch everyday. I NEED IDEAS PEOPLE. My lunches have consisted of: lunchables (the ones without meat- how boring), mac-n-cheese, and fruit and yogurt. I'm so tired of these options. And I'm not working with many options here.

Food cravings: Well, take a look at my chalkboard this week. My current obsession: baked potato with a little TON of sour cream (healthy, right?). I don't know why but sour cream and cream cheese have been tasting SO delicious to me. I can really taste the "creaminess". Weird, I know. But I don't know how else to explain it. I've never tasted it this way before! HAHA.

PS: I totally caved and got those onion rings and BBQ sauce from Burger King I have been talking about. And then TOTALLY regretted it afterwards because my stomach was hurting so bad. But don't worry, it was worth every. single. bite.

Labor Signs: I'm looking forward to filling out this question one day! That means, I'll be closer to holding and kissing this little Baby Moon!

Symptoms:  Well folks, ever since Sunday I have officially hit the "morning sickness" stage. And by "morning sickness" I actually mean it!! I  only get sick in the mornings and then I get to go about my business, feeling like a normal human being. I am actually thankful for this. Anything is better than before- that's for sure. No complaints here!! And then there are the occasional several days that I run by Taco Bell and then my stomach hurts for hours after, but that's my own fault. I can't deny this baby it's cravings. That would be awful of me.

Happy or Moody most of the time: HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY! Anxious and happy! All I do it rub this belly all day long.

Looking forward to: Let's get real...we ALL know the answer to this one: THE GENDER REVEAL! Please Lord, let this month go by fast, really really fast!

PS: I cut 3 inches off of my hair and I am NOT happy about it. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
