27 weeks

Close up:

How far along? 27 weeks

Size of baby: Baby is the size of a Cucumber (not really sure about this because he was a footlong a couple of weeks ago. I don't know about you, but I haven't seen any cucumbers bigger than a footlong, have you?)

Total weight gain:  16 lbs. I go back to the Doc on 7/10/13. I'll get weighed again then. Let's pray it's not another 10 lbs.

Maternity clothes? Nope. Haven't even put those maternity jeans on yet- or the shirt. I'm definitely taking them back- it's final. Still living in sundresses and maxi dresses...literally.

Stretch marks? No

Sleep: Sleep. Oh Sleep. I LOVE sleep. I have been so tired this week and have been sleeping like a little baby.

Best moment this week:  KNOWING WE ARE IN THE LAST TRIMESTER. 2/3 of the way there. WHOOP.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not this week. Chicken update: still not eating eat.

Gender: Baby boy.

Belly Button in or out? She is still in right now. HOWEVER. I can tell it's changing. It's getting flatter- I'm not kidding guys....I'll die if this thing pokes out.

Wedding rings on or off?  Bands off, wedding ring on.

Miss Anything? SUSHI. We went to Outback again this weekend with some friends and I was drooling over John's Ahi tuna!

Food cravings: I had a strong urge for a glass of wine this week.

Labor Signs: No.

Symptoms: The back aches are getting redic.

Happy or moody? EXCITED!! The nursery is coming right along. THE CRIB IS UP AND READY FOR BABY BOY!! See pictures below.

Looking forward to: The rest of the nursery furniture to arrive. Now that it's in progress...I just want it complete! :) Mrs. Impatient.

Get ready for some picture overload...

The crib arrived last Thursday. So of course, we went and picked it up THE exact same night it arrived. John of course put it together as soon as we got home.

Here is John putting the crib together.

Here is the crib. The baskets on the left will hold his toys.

 Close up of the crib.

I know, you are dying from cuteness overload...aren't you? I walk in there at LEAST twice a day and just stand there and stare (this is not a joke).

And then of course I had to share some pictures from my ABSOLUTELY PERFECT shower this weekend given by my fabulous Mother in law and Sister in law. These two did such a wonderful job. The decorations and food were amazing. I had a wonderful time and I am truly thankful for these two ladies.

Here we are:

The spread:

The CUTEST diaper cake. One of Dolor's friends at work made this for me. Seriously, can you take those tiny sunglasses? I think I'll have him wear them home from the hospital! :)

OUR STROLLER!!! Thank you Aunt Nancy!!!

The dresser for the nursery should be here soon. We still have to hang things on the wall. I will update with pictures as we get things completed. Next Doctor's appointment is July 10th. I will have an ultrasound (to check for placenta previa) and the dreaded Glucose test. What does a girl eat the day of her Glucose test? EVERYTHING has sugar in it. My appointment isn't until 2!! Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Exactly 3 months (from today) until Baby Moon's due date!

26 weeks

Close up:

How far along? 26 weeks

Size of baby: Baby is the size of an Eggplant.

Total weight gain:  O.M.G. Friends and Fam!...Listen up. I went to the Doctor on Tuesday and when I stepped on that scale I couldn't believe my eyes. ..........I GAINED 10 POUNDS in a month's time. WHAT ON EARTH HAPPENED? (I know...too many trips to DQ- that's what happened). The Doc told me that it was completely normal to have gained this much weight in a month...especially since I had only gained 6 lbs. up until this point. So now I am at a total of 16 lbs. He told me 25 lbs. was average.

Maternity clothes? Not wearing any. Still haven't worn my new maternity outfit I bought last week and I am seriously thinking about taking the maternity jeans back. Who wears jeans in the summer...especially when they are 16 pounds over their normal weight?!?

Stretch marks? No

Sleep: Sleep is the same. Tossing and turning all night long.

Best moment this week:  Knowing that Little Baby Moon will be in our arms in just 3 short months.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Negative

Gender: Sweet baby boy that I am so anxious to snuggle with.

Belly Button in or out? IN

Wedding rings on or off?  Bands off, wedding ring on.

Miss Anything? Feeling normal. Being able to do normal things...like walk down the hallway of my school without feeling out of breath.

Food cravings: Back to bologna.

Labor Signs: No.

Symptoms: Back aches are getting worse and I am experiencing a little bit of acid reflux this week.

Happy or moody? Happy of course. 3 months is not a long time. I am hoping that it goes by quickly.

Looking forward to: My first baby shower on Saturday...given by my sweet Mother-in-law, Dolores.

I had a sonogram scheduled on Tuesday to see if my placenta has moved away from the opening of my cervix. Unfortunately, the tech was sick so they called to cancel. I was totally bumped. I waited an entire month for this appointment. I know people get sick, but seriously...no back up tech?! HELLO. I still kept my appointment with the Doc and he told me that he would reschedule the sonogram for July 10th along with my Glucose test (yippy). He also told me that I have "a lot" of sugar in my urine. I informed him that it was just the Frosty from Wendy's I had eaten right before my appointment (Hey- it's summer- I'm hot as hell- and I wanted ice cream...regardless if I knew I had a pee test coming up just a few hours later).

  • As I mentioned before the "dress" I wear every week is actually a tunic (a longer shirt). However, since I am a little on the short side I was able to pull it off as a dress for about 6 months. Unfortunately, as my belly grows the dress keeps inching upward. So, now I am officially wearing it as a shirt. And I think it really accentuates the bump this way!

I wanted to show you a side by side picture. What a difference 10 weeks makes!!
(16 weeks vs. 26 weeks)
Have a great weekend.

25 weeks

Close up:

How far along? 25 weeks

Size of baby: Baby is the size of a head of Cauliflower.

Total weight gain:  6 lbs. Next Tuesday I will have an update on weight gain. I'm thinking it's going to be a doozy.

Maternity clothes? I bought some maternity jeans from GAP. I haven't worn them yet because I have to get them hemmed at the bottom...but let me tell you something...those things are SO comfortable around my belly. WAY more comfortable than the belly band I am wearing with my regular jeans. I think I can get away with only purchasing one pair since it's summer and all. I also bought a cute maternity shirt from there. I think that's all I am going to go with. It was $101 for those two items...items I will never wear again (unless I save them for baby #2). I'm sticking with Maxi's  and cotton dresses from here on out. And I just got two new ones in the mail ;)

Stretch marks? No

Sleep: This week was pretty decent in the sleep department. I continue to toss and turn all night long, which is not so fun.

Best moment this week:  PAINTING THE NURSERY ACCENT WALL. I posted a picture below. I couldn't be more happier with the way it turned out. Big shout out to John for painting it for me!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing much this week.

Gender: b.o.y

Belly Button in or out? IN

Wedding rings on or off?  Still just wearing my wedding ring without the bands (but taking it off when I walk outside).

Miss Anything? Being able to move around with ease. Getting off the couch is getting difficult these days.

Food cravings: Sweet and Salty! I caved and had some french fries and ice cream for dinner one night this week. Yep, you read that correct....FOR DINNER. What baby wants, baby gets.

Labor Signs: No.

Symptoms: Back aches. Back aches. Back ACHES.

Happy or Moody most of the time: HAPPY and extremely anxious. I can't wait to hold this baby boy. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't image what our first moments will be like together as a family of 3 and who he is going to look like. In about 5 weeks we are going to do another 4D ultrasound so we can get a better look at him :)

Looking forward to: Now that the wall is painted all I want to do is get that room complete. I go in there at least once a day and imagine everything in it's place and all the pictures hung on the wall. As soon as I get my hands on that furniture- it's on like Donkey Kong!

Here is the painted (Dark Navy) accent wall (it's an iphone picture, so it looks a little darker than it actually is).

Doesn't it look like I swallowed a ball?

Only 105 more days!!! Have a great weekend.

24 weeks {6 MONTHS}

Close up:

How far along? 24 weeks...S.I.X months. Can you believe that?

Size of baby: Baby is the size of an ear of corn (or about the size of a Subway footlong) Baby boy weighs about 1.5 lbs...he is growing about 6 oz. per week now.

Total weight gain:  6 lbs. I'll weigh again on June 18th and I'm scared, HAHA.

Maternity clothes? Nope. Six months with no maternity clothes- Impressive. I told myself I must going shopping next weekend for some maxi dresses for this summer. And I think I'll break down and buy a pair of skinny jeans from Gap- maternity style!  Everyone tells me how comfortable those heinous elastic waist bands are...I'm not so sure I can rock those just yet, but I'll give it a shot.

Stretch marks? No :) And good news- No line of Nigeria, or whatever that thing was called ;)

Sleep: Oh sleep. It's great one week and horrible the next. Lately, I have been tossing and turning A.L.L night long. I just can't seem to get comfortable these days.

Best moment this week:  Picking out and buying the nursery paint color. We went with a dark navy blue. It's called "Navel" from Sherwin Williams. We are only painting one accent wall (the wall the crib will be up against) and the rest of the walls will remain the taupe color they were when we moved in. We John can't paint until we received the nursery furniture... which is going to be pushed back a little later than we thought. We are looking at the beginning of July now. I've very anxious to get this party started!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not much anymore. Read this sad situation: I don't eat veggies. I have probably had broccoli ONE time since I've been pregnant and that's about as far as it gets with veggies around here. Ins't that horrible? What type of future Mother does that make me? I just can't stomach them. The smell or sight of veggies doesn't make me sick, but I just cannot bring myself to eat ANY of them! Don't worry- I supplement with vitamins!

Gender: Sweet baby boy.

Belly Button in or out? IN-NIE.

Wedding rings on or off?  Still just wearing my wedding ring without the bands.

Miss Anything? Back to missing sushi ...and diet soda. Sometimes I have a diet soda and tell myself it's okay as long as I don't do it all the time. Then I make sure I drink about 10 glasses of water after to make myself feel better about that horrible decision.  I'd also like a glass a wine (or five) to celebrate the end of the school year!!  (Can I get a whoop whoop on that??)

Food cravings: Ice cream. This is nothing new.

Labor Signs: No. But my books and blogs tell me that it's possible to start having Braxton Hicks from this point on. Wow. I'm scared.

Symptoms: So last week after I said that I didn't have any more sickness...totally jinxed myself. I got sick on Friday morning. So, let's just not talk about sickness anymore. The back aches have totally increased. And lucky me...I'm getting acid reflux! Boy, that's a doozie.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Overjoyed. I know I've said this before, but I love waking up every morning. I love watching this belly grow (and boy is it growing) and I get so happy when this baby moves around in my tummy everyday. My friend brought her brand new baby boy to work today and I snuggled his sweet face. I imagined our baby in my arms the whole time. It was a great feeling. Only 16 short weeks and I will be able to hold his sweet tiny body in my arms.

Looking forward to: Summer vacation! Although I am teaching summer school this summer I will have all afternoons off from 1:00 on and all Friday's off! :) I'm planning to have a very productive summer. I have an entire "Must Do Before Baby Comes List" that I need to work on. Some of those things include: reorganizing the pantry, finding a home for all the 'junk' in our spare room so that the new guest room can be moved into there, washing all of baby boys clothes, the list goes on and on.

  • A blanket I ordered came in...and I L.O.V.E it so much (this fabric will also be his crib skirt).

  • Here is the color we are using in the nursery: Note: this is NOT our nursery. This is an image from Google. I just wanted to give you an idea of how dark it is against other colors.
